You’ll join a cross-functional, dynamic team building healthcare data APIs to support more effective and affordable healthcare. The team you'll join is responsible for maintaining and enhancing healthcare benefit and claim APIs in production. These are high volume APIs that ingest and stream ~350 million claim changes and ~7 million requests every month.

This will be Verdance’s first dedicated product manager, and there are significant opportunities for growth. We’d love to find someone who is a great fit to take the product helm on the project team, and can also help Verdance develop a strong product practice closely attuned to the needs of the civic tech space. 

Here are our top priorities for this role:

  • 5+ years of product management experience 
  • Deep experience with product management of APIs
  • Significant bonuses:
  • Healthcare or claims API experience
  • Any prior professional exposure with mainframes or COBOL

Here’s what we hope you bring:

  • Impeccable written and verbal communication and presentation skills, which you’ll apply to bring clarity and alignment to the complex government health tech space
  • Ability to deeply understand and balance design, research, engineering, and stakeholder constraints and priorities
  • Strong product artifact creation skills
  • A deep understanding of how to monitor product metrics to ensure software features are performing as expected
  • Ability to fluidly manage a backlog of user stories and tasks that reflects product priorities 
  • Interest and experience in building an org-wide product management practice
  • Desire to learn about government and help make it better
  • Desire to work at a small company focused on thoughtful growth
  • Curiosity, scrappiness, patience, and humility

  • 150-170k salary range (depending on seniority)

Some administrative requirements of our government contracts:

  • Work authorization in the US
  • All work must take place in the continental US
  • Team members must have lived in the US for 3 out of the past 5 years
  • You'll have to pass a public trust government background investigation
