About the Role:

The Product Manager, EV Charging Infrastructure will support the development of world-class commercial EV charging and infrastructure strategies and solutions. The role of Product Manager requires high level of collaboration with several areas within GM's EV development: marketing, sales, engineering, program management, etc. The role will consist of leading workflow for large EV Commercial Solution project(s), ensuring work is broken down into manageable tasks, and deliverable ownership is comprehended for on time completion. Role will also include managing infrastructure customer, infrastructure provider and fleet relationships. This role requires the highest level of leadership and technical background and will depend on strong internal and external relationships, in the EV growth market. Product Manager is responsible for ensuring that the enterprise's strategic vision is manifested in the execution of capabilities relative to GM's suite of global EV applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to understand charging technologies, have a strong customer focus, and a motivation to expand and unify our experiences in all GM's platforms.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Product management oversight for Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (EVI) projects, both conventional and non-conventional vehicles
  • Manage relationship with EVI Turnkey Providers (electrical infrastructure installer), partnering with them to ensure knowledge of all charging requirements as well as new opportunities/technologies
  • Responsible for supporting fleet, providing customer overviews of EVI services, and facilitating introductions to the turnkey providers, for a seamless customer experience.
  • Develop high level timing and content roadmaps to drive timely work completion and engaging with key partners throughout this process: defining KPIs, supporting epics and lean business cases to bring these features to life.
  • Lead discussions for epic and lean business case development with core partners (product management, UX, architecture, technical team, etc.), that impact Commercial and Fleet infrastructure deliverables. Ensure workflow is captured in the business process and meets needs of feature timing.
  • Ensure market content and feature needs are captured in global programs, and the standardized workflow.
  • Helps coordinate and prioritize activities given numerous competing and complementary agendas
  • Tracking and reporting implementation milestones, test results, and other metrics to the business
  • Support the development and communication of business requirements into technical specifications and implementable requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of commercial fleet applications, trends, and features, act as a center of excellence for our commercial and fleet EV Infrastructure.
  • Participate in design thinking workshops, commercial explorations, etc. on new charging solutions, technologies, ideas, etc. relative to growing Charging infrastructure and EV adoption.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams on app flows and designs and be the voice at the table to represent a commercial solutions viewpoint and speak to the feasibility of proposed solutions
  • Collaborate with other teams internally and externally to GM to implement common frameworks for consistency and scalability, such as design system adoption, tech stack alignment, release management, testing, and analytics
  • Contributing to testing & validation of Charging infrastructure applications and customer experience; participate in demos/reviews as vital; apply input from voice of customer and analytics teams and adjust plan to implement improvements
  • Revenue management: coordinate payment flow process for EVI referrals.
  • May travel domestically to support EV Charging Infrastructure Solutions and promote EV adoption.

Additional Job Description

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree required; Masters Degree desired (good business insight)
  • 3-5 years of experience with automotive OEM in an electrification-based role, electric vehicle (EV) charging company, utility, or organization passionate about EV/customer experience (CX)
  • Strong understanding and familiarity with EV Charging Infrastructure (CPO, MSP, EVSE) including standard interoperability protocols
  • Prior experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), development process including Epic workflow
  • Strategy/product management experience or business planning experience
  • Solid background in translating business needs to develop strategic technology solutions
  • Technical skill/customer focus
  • Flexibility to adapt to constantly evolving environment and specifications, strong decision-making skills
  • Must have high-level communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Knowledge of GM internal back-end systems preferred
  • Global awareness/sensitivity

Compensation: The median level of salary compensation for this role is $113,756.32
