About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The New Products team at Stripe is responsible for identifying, exploring, and developing new product opportunities that have the potential to significantly impact our business and our customers. As a Product Manager on this team, you will have the unique opportunity to take on high-impact, cross-functional projects that span the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond. This role is akin to an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, where you'll have the resources and support of a large, established company to bring your innovative ideas to life.

What you’ll do

As the Product Manager for New Products, you will be a driving force behind the creation and development of Stripe's next generation of products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting in-depth market research to identify unmet customer needs and emerging market trends that can be addressed through new product initiatives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and go-to-market, to turn product ideas into viable, customer-centric solutions.
  • Defining and executing product roadmaps, including setting priorities, managing resources, and ensuring timely delivery of new features and functionality.
  • Continuously gathering customer feedback, analyzing performance data, and iterating on product designs to optimize the user experience and drive business impact.
  • Championing the new product vision and garnering internal buy-in from key stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Developing and executing go-to-market strategies to ensure successful product launches and ongoing customer adoption.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges throughout the product development process.
  • Owning the P&L for the new product lines you bring to market, with a founder-like mentality to drive their success.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a focus on new product development and incubation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with engineering, design, marketing, and other teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to take on ambiguous, high-impact projects.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in the financial technology or payments industry
  • Experience founding or working at a startup, either as an employee or entrepreneur
  • Experience with iterative hypothesis-driven product development and experimentation
  • Taking an ownership mindset and working on whatever it takes to solve problems and delight users
  • Experience aligning a broad set of stakeholders via strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A track record of successfully launching new products or features that have driven significant business impact.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies and trends that could shape the future of the payments industry.
  • Ability to thrive with significant autonomy and responsibility

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $162,300 - $243,600. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
