Upwork is seeking a talented and strategic Product Manager with a specialized focus on Recommendations to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the ideation, development, and optimization of recommendation algorithms and features, playing a key role in enhancing user experience and driving engagement on the Upwork platform. Your Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for recommendation algorithms and features, aligning with Upwork's overall product vision and business objectives.
- Drive user engagement by delivering personalized and relevant recommendations across various user touchpoints, including job suggestions, freelancer matches, and content recommendations.
- Utilize data analysis and user feedback to understand user behavior, preferences, and needs, and translate insights into actionable recommendations and improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, designers, and other product managers, to implement and iterate on recommendation solutions.
- Design and conduct A/B tests and experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of recommendation algorithms, iterating on approaches to continuously improve performance.
- Communicate recommendation strategies, findings, and performance metrics to internal stakeholders, including leadership, product teams, and other relevant departments.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies related to recommendations and user personalization.
What it takes to catch our eye:
- Proven product management experience, with a focus on recommendation systems or related areas.
- Solid understanding of recommendation algorithms, machine learning concepts, and data-driven decision-making.
- Proven ability to develop and execute a product vision, with a track record of delivering successful product initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Passion for innovation and a proactive approach to exploring new ideas and technologies in the field of recommendations.
The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington is $149,000-185,000. This base reflects the salary for this position in California and Washington, and base salary in other locations may be different. Additionally, this position is eligible for participation in an annual sales incentive plan and is eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program
