Position Overview:
As Product Owner, you will join the Platform & Technology team and will work closely with business unit stakeholders to ensure that strategic and tactical initiatives are identified and prioritized in alignment with organizational goals. You will collaborate effectively with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, and Support teams to understand problems and define our SaaS Learning Management solutions. You will have a significant influence on new products, feature enhancements, and how they are implemented.
A PO’s focus will be balanced between strategic and tactical responsibilities:
- Evangelize Agile processes & principles
- Influence the roadmap by prioritizing and aligning new initiatives with organizational goals.
- Lead cross-functional ideation and brainstorming for new products or features
- Define MVP and vision for new initiatives by performing competitive analysis, analyzing metrics, and understanding customer needs
- Own SaaS products and features throughout their development lifecycle from inception to delivery
- Design user workflows and interfaces through prototypes and wireframes
- Write requirements with clearly defined user stories, specifications, UAC, and business value for software development
- Lead grooming sessions with engineers to estimate effort and define sprint goals.
- Continuously monitor and communicate project health and status to stakeholders and clients
- Communicate releases, create end-user documentation, and facilitate demos.
- Mitigate impediments impacting the success of the sprints and engineering team
Job requirements
Requirements:
- 3+ years of product management experience (Product Manager, Product Owner, or equivalent)
- MUST have 3+ years SaaS experience with B2C or B2B solutions, ideally both, and ideally with a SaaS Learning Management System
- 1+ years of agile software development experience
- Demonstrable experience in complex systems integration and platform consolidation
- Demonstrated experience identifying product opportunities and problems via quantitative product analytics
- Keen understanding of customer needs and user experience
- Expertise with product management software such as Jira/DevOps, Confluence, ProductPlan, Aha, Xtensio, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc
- Excellent procedural and organizational skills, including the ability to create story maps, user stories and acceptance criteria, project specs, user documentation, and roadmap plans.
- Evangelist of Agile process and principles, such as Scrum, Lean, or SAFe
- Proven ability to work in collaborative environments across multiple teams
- Must demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication with the ability to adapt to communicating with a remote workforce
