Our Product community plays a big role in supporting and executing on our stakeholders’ business vision by working with the engineering teams on user experience, architecture, design and development, driving to successful product launches.

A Product Owner is responsible for providing the product development team with a product vision and prioritized list of features (the backlog), in alignment with the product strategy as defined by the client and/or NearForm Product Manager. This role is operationally hands-on with an emphasis on supporting the engineering team in delivery with a robust, and clearly defined backlog.

This role should provide growth opportunities for the right candidate into a more senior Product Management role. This candidate should be able to stand on their own two feet with the stakeholders and the NF team, but know when to reach out to a Product Lead for support.

Key responsibilities are to

  • Represent the customer within the development and delivery processes
  • Articulate the product vision clearly and consistently
  • Performs strategic planning, to identify the organization's business needs
  • Business model analysis, to define the organization's policies and market approaches
  • Write requirements – typically as epics, features and user stories - including clear acceptance criteria
  • Support grooming and refinement ceremonies in collaboration with Tech Leads to ensure alignment on the requirements and to support the delivery goals
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog
  • Identify and communicate risks, changes or delays as soon as possible
  • Track releases
  • Understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings, planning, reviews, demos and retrospectives
  • Support the development team with any questions they may have, clear their roadblocks, and be informed and empowered to make smart product-focused decisions

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of product experience with software product development
  • Prior experience in a product management role with technology platforms
  • Proficiency with Atlassian product suite, Microsoft Office product suite, and Azure DevOps
  • Hands on experience building a product in an agile environment collaborating directly with engineers and designers
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with product experience exercising mature judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
