Job Description

As a Commercial Product Portfolio Manager, you will join the Software Product Management team that has responsibility for our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) portfolio for edge and data management. You will work with a geographically dispersed team across multiple disciplines inside and outside of Rockwell Automation to support product launches and adoption efforts. As part of the commercial team supporting a new product introduction, you will have the opportunity to build new plans and content, as well as influence new processes. Additionally, you will tightly couple with our Industry sales teams and Information Solutions sales teams to build opportunity funnels before and after product launches.

Preferred location is Milwaukee, Wisconsin or San Jose, California. We will also consider other remote locations in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution of the commercial strategy for edge and data management software, including the ability to articulate the alignment with broader Rockwell Automation strategies (e.g., outcome-based selling, ARR, etc) and portfolios (e.g., FactoryTalk Hub, analytics offerings, etc).
  • Collaborate with product team and launch partners on commercial strategy of the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Marketing and Portfolio Engineering for all external commercial messaging, launches, campaigns, etc.
  • Engage with multiple internal and external sales channels including direct strategic account management teams, information solutions overlay teams, technical consultants, system integrators, distributors, and value-added resellers.
  • Responsible for business ownership role in enabling sales, including channel education on solution offerings, licensing, and procurement.
  • Responsible for acting as the commercial lead on customer-facing issues/complaints within the business.
  • Collaborate with product management and competitive intelligence colleagues to monitor trends and competitive threats within target automation markets to identify and articulate their technical impact on both the portfolio and Rockwell Automation's strategy and priorities.
  • Collaborate with other members of product team on market Analysis (TAM, SAM, etc.) and product positioning.
  • Responsible for leading the strategy and execution of Preview Release activities with target accounts to validate portfolio offering, create customer references, and build an actionable opportunity funnel for sales to advance.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, technical marketing, or equivalent; or comparable work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.


Preferred qualifications

  • 3+ years of product marketing, solutions sales or as product owner in development.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively adjust to multiple internal and external personas.
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Experience in managing and/or marketing cloud-delivered software products and software-as-a-service value propositions.
  • Knowledge of control system design, implementation, commissioning, and/or support with knowledge of current Rockwell Automation software products.
  • Knowledge of information solutions (e.g., analytics, visualizations, data management) for industrial applications.
  • Knowledge of personas and drivers within industrial automation.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $122,880.00 - 153,600.00 USD Annual with an annual target bonus of 8% of base salary. Our company benefits can be found at raquickfind.com
