About the role
The R&D Tax Credit Consultant plays a pivotal role in guiding clients through the complexities of their R&D tax credit claims. With a primary focus on ensuring a seamless process from initial engagement to HMRC submission, this role demands prior experience in navigating the intricacies of R&D claims. While familiarity with accountancy principles is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The R&D Tax Credit Analyst's duties encompass various facets, including client interaction, technical report writing, and meticulous adherence to deadlines, all while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
Client Interaction: Engage with clients throughout the R&D tax credit claiming process, providing guidance and support from initial engagement to HMRC submission.
Technical Report Writing: Draft technically accurate and comprehensive reports detailing clients' R&D activities and eligible expenses.
Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining regular communication with clients, addressing inquiries promptly, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the claiming process.
Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to assess claim sizes and ensure accuracy in the calculation of eligible R&D expenses.
HMRC Compliance: Ensure compliance with HMRC guidelines and regulations throughout the claiming process, staying updated on any legislative changes or inquiries.
Proactive Engagement: Proactively engage with clients, demonstrating autonomy and a solution-driven approach to address their needs and optimise the claiming process.
Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline the R&D claiming process, collaborating with team members to implement solutions.
Documentation Management: Maintain organised documentation and records related to client interactions, claims, and submissions to facilitate efficient workflow and client follow-up.

The whole process usually takes about 3 weeks end to end, but we’re flexible and will do our best to accommodate timings that will work for you. As you progress through the stages, our Talent Acquisition Manager will share feedback and information on what to expect/prepare for. We aim to provide feedback and/or updates within 72 hours of each step.
