Job Summary:

The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for a full cycle of global revenue accounting (ASC 606), including performing all gross-to-net revenue, revenue approval, reporting requirements, and audit support. The Revenue Accounting Manager works with Sales Operations, AR Global Team, Legal and Systems Groups to resolve issues that may have a revenue impact.This position requires a strong understanding of ASC 606 and GAAP knowledge of accounting, and will report to the Director, Global Controller.This position also oversees a revenue staff accountant who reviews deals and quotes in SFDC, approved estimates in NetSuite, and prepares COGS amortization and COGS deferral.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare revenue recognition for the month-end close. This includes handling billing validations, reconciling and uploading Pilot, Hardware, department revenue and Revenue terminations.
  • Prepare deferred revenue forward.
  • Review journal entries to ensure appropriate revenue treatment.
  • Perform SSP analysis as needed and create processes to maintain SSP analysis on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide revenue accounting guidance and advice on highly visible transactions that are impactful to the organization’s overall objectives.
  • Perform controls and procedures to review customer contracts such as MSA, ASQ and PO agreements.
  • Evaluate and implement guidance to the commission Team.
  • ARR and Power BI Review at customer store level and explain churns in Power BI.Communicate with the AR Team to correct billing errors.
  • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities in the Revenue arena.
  • Work with multiple divisions, such as AR Global team, Sales, Operations, Support, Logistics and Legal to ensure proper revenue accounting policies and procedures are in place.
  • Reconcile sales commissions and bonuses.
  • Responsible for analyzing and recording stock-based compensation expenses (SBC), managing Carta system for equity grants, vested stock options and exercise stock options.
  • Support with managing the Carta system for regulatory filings.
  • Support the coordination of annual audit activities of external auditors, as needed.
  • Support the coordination of Sales tax audits.
  • Support Tax Provisions (Federal and state income Tax Returns)
  • Perform key control activities identified for relevant accounting areas.
  • Manage staff accountant who approves opportunities and quotes through SFDC and prepares COGS amortization and COGS deferral for month-end close.
  • Ability to take the lead on special projects as delegated by upper management to support and streamline Finance & Accounting processes

Required skills:

  • Ability to partner and collaborate with various teams throughout the organization
  • Ability to independently manage time, complete work, and meet deadlines using accounting expertise and company processes
  • Deep understanding of accounting knowledge such as US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Expertise with accounting systems such as MS Excel, SalesForce, NetSuite, and PowerBI, Carta
  • Basic to intermediate experience with CaptivateIQ or equivalent commissioning tool
  • Experience in implementing ASC 606 and related system implementation a plus
  • Being able to independently keep a handle on all revenue-related processes for the organization and spot areas of improvement as needed to ensure processes are run efficiently
