Robotics Project Coordinator

The Robotics Project Coordinator role combines hands on in-field work to install and operate drone and robotic systems in solar farms as well as scaling these operations. The position blends technical knowledge, on-your-feet critical thinking, and excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead in-field installation of robotic systems (both planning and execution)
  • Travel to work sites to install, operate, and maintain robotic systems or other special projects as needed to ensure project and customer success
  • Abide by standard operating procedures for efficient and safe installation and maintenance of robotics systems
  • In-field testing of new equipment and data capture methods when needed
  • Build and oversee team responsible for ongoing installation and maintenance of robotic systems
  • Create and staff to in-field deployment schedule
  • Provide feedback to and manage relationships with in-field crews in order to ensure positive customer experience
  • Act as primary point of contact for in-field crews
  • Track and report on all budget items related to this work
  • Keep up to date on industry trends surrounding robotics
  • Draft and publish documentation of new data capture processes and related systems
  • Track project success and completion through real-time updates of spreadsheets and databases
  • Share regular progress reports within team
  • Escalate matters appropriately utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), proper channels, and critical thinking
  • Participate in specialty projects or R&D missions as assigned and communicated by team and company leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Current FAA Part 107 certificate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Team player
  • Love learning new things fast and staying up on technology
  • Strong time management skills and a knack for adapting to changing priorities and project needs
  • Ability to travel on short notice and for up to 75% of time
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 1-3 years of work experience in solar electrical, drone, robotics, or other industrial settings
  • Hands on experience using tools to install and repair mechanical and electrical systems
  • Must be primarily located in the contiguous US
  • Must be authorized to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with thermography
  • Experience using project management systems (Airtable, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheets, etc.) 
  • Experience as trainer, team lead, and/or subcontractor supervisor
  • Experience with desktop GIS applications such as QGIS or ArcGIS
  • Familiarity with SQL or other data querying language
  • Prior startup experience
