Rust Developer
Glittr
Glittr is building DeFi enablement infrasturcture for Bitcoin. We are true believers in the ideals of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency; we prioritize the security, privacy, and decentralization of our systems.
Glittr is a venture-backed, seed stage startup. The team has a long history in the crypto ecosystem.
The job
- We are looking for someone with significant experience with Rust development to work directly with the CTO on the development of the Glyphs protocol.
- Experience in crytpo/Bitcoin is preferred but not required. Willingness to learn about it (if you're not familiar) is required.
- Understanding of security-minded development is a must. We prioritize robust and reliable code over hacky and fast shipping.
- You are expected to be the Rust expert on the team; the CTO is an experienced engineer and cryptographer, but not an experienced Rust developer.
- Because you will work hand-in-hand with the CTO, strong collaborative skills and fluent English are required.
- There is no strict credential requirement in terms of education or years of experience, but this should be seen as a senior position. While you will not be asked to lead a team, you will also not be given discrete tasks. You should be able to lead a development project and contribute to design decisions.
- Priority will be given to candidates that are near the DC area to best facilitate collaboration. Remote work is fine, with time zones closer to EST being preferred.
- Travel opportunities (e.g. for conferences) will be available, but travel is not required.
Some logistics
- If you do not have pre-existing work authorization in the United States, employment would be on a contract basis.
- We are not currently able to offer full benefits, but can discuss reimbursing health insurance premiums.
- Someone available full time is preferred, but if you are available at least 20 hours a week please feel free to apply.
- Equity share includes 1:1 token allocation.
