Over the last ten years, SaaS has changed the way we work — for the better. Slack instead of email. Miro instead of sticky notes. Airtable instead of Excel. SaaS is helping tech companies move so much faster, but it’s also introducing a new surface area of risk they’ve never seen before. The risk of leaking sensitive data. As a result, companies are faced with answering the difficult question of how to manage compounding security risks as they grow without introducing more red tape that slows their team members down.

At Metomic, we help tech companies save time & reduce costs by minimising their sensitive data footprint in cloud applications like Slack, Google Drive and Zendesk.

Our technology includes native integrations with dozens of cloud apps, AI to detect thousands of sensitive data types, and advanced functionality to manipulate data at scale (redaction, retention, access controls, etc). All from one place. This liberates tech companies to make full use of their favourite SaaS apps as they grow, whilst Metomic takes care of all the security risks behind the scenes.

After launching our product in April 2021, we now count some of the world’s most innovative companies as customers, such as Zego, Octopus Energy, Clearcover, Omnipresent, Travelperk, Crypto.com and Jumio. Our revenue is growing quickly and we’re backed by some great investors like Connect (investors in CityMapper, Typeform, Marvel), LocalGlobe (Improbable, Figma, Zego) and RFC (Hopin, Clubhouse, On Deck, etc).

 

 

The Sales Team

Over the past year, our sales team (now 8 strong!) have taken our product to market and have been iterating our value proposition. We count some of the world’s most innovative companies as customers, such as Jumio, Zego, Clearcover, Omnipresent and TravelPerk. We’re entering a really exciting period in our growth journey and are looking to welcome a new Account Executive to the team to be part of this.

You will be responsible for building relationships with executives and decision-makers (usually CTOs, CIOs and CISOs), gaining a strong understanding of their business needs and ways of working, and developing a pipeline of qualified opportunities in partnership with our Account Executives and Senior Account Executives. You’ll also have the opportunity to create innovative campaigns tailored to market segments, iterate our sales processes and approach, and collaborate with our Product and Engineering teams to provide market feedback.

We’ve set ambitious targets as a business and you will have ownership of a personal target each month. We’ve invested, and continue to invest, in the best tools on the market for our sales team so you can focus on what matters most (Outreach, Hubspot, Sales Nav, Lusha, Orum Power Dialler, Apollo, PhantomBuster and Trumpet)

We take learning and career development seriously and want Metomic to be an environment where you can grow and develop your skills down whatever path you’re most interested in. Some of our sales team have moved into more specialised roles, been promoted to new roles, or taken on people leadership responsibilities. We also have sales learning forums and ‘Revenue Hour’ where we come together as a team to move things forward and invest time in our own upskilling.

What you'll be doing

  • Gaining a strong understanding of our product, the market and value proposition
  • Undertaking research to identify key accounts, contacts and prospects
  • Generating leads with an outbound focus, using a blended approach of phone, email, and online channels to promote Metomic and our services
  • Proactively qualifying leads against specific criteria, identifying their current solution and if their needs align with Metomic.
  • Creating innovative campaigns tailored to specific industries (e.g. InsurTech) and roles (e.g. Chief Information Security Officers)
  • Set up discovery calls and demos with Account Executives
  • Working closely with the wider sales and marketing team, to ensure there is consistency and collaboration in our approach
  • Provide market feedback to our Product and Engineering teams so we stay abreast of first impressions and use cases.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience or exposure to lead generation and prospecting - we are very aware of what we don’t know, so being able to lean on your own experience and contribute new perspectives to our team will hold you in good stead.
  • Strong communicator who is inquisitive and curious - you’ll be building relationships and understanding how other businesses might benefit from Metomic.
  • Resilient and mission-driven - You’ll need to own a pipeline goal and prioritise your time across research, prospecting and campaigns. We don’t let the rejections stand in the way of finding those companies and security leaders who we know will get great value out of using Metomic.
  • Values- and relationship-driven - We’re a small, friendly and tight-knit team and we value kindness and empathy.

Our recruitment process

We know your time is important and want to make sure our recruitment process provides both of us a really authentic and meaningful insight into what it would be like working together, so we’re planning on the following stages:

  1. Intro Call (30 mins) - This will focus on your motivations and interests, your journey to date and some of the experiences you’ve had, along with a chance to share more about Metomic and the role.
  2. Skills Interview (1 hour) - This will be with Jacob, our Head of Growth. It will focus on your sales skillset specifically, how you’ve approached situations in the past and how you might approach some of the challenges we have at Metomic. This is also a chance to ask questions to learn more around team culture, goals and expectations in the role
  3. Interview with Rich Vibert - our CEO and co-founder (30 minutes) - This is a great opportunity to hear more from Rich about his vision for Metomic and the journey to date.
  4. Meet the team (2 x 30 mins) - We’ll call this optional based on who you meet during the interview stages, but we also think it’s important you have the chance to meet some of your potential future colleagues and hear directly from them what it’s like in the sales team at Metomic.

Compensation

  • Our base salary range is £35-45k. We understand there is a broad range of experiences within the market so if you’re above this range and think you’re a perfect match for this role and Metomic, let’s chat about that.
  • OTE commission is £12-16K per annum (uncapped), plus 2% revenue share of deals you originate.
  • We also recognise our success is your success, so you’ll receive tax-efficient EMI stock options as part of our annual grant process.
