Your role
Kisi is looking for a part time Sales Tax Contractor to support our Finance team to help oversee the company’s tax obligations. You will manage all required state filings, help determine nexus requirements, manage the resolution of all payroll tax related matters, and ensure that the company is compliant with all necessary state tax laws. The ideal candidate has background knowledge of state tax codes, laws, and regulations. We are looking for someone to work 1-3 days a week for a 6 month contract with the option to extend. This role will report to our co-founder and is remote friendly.

Your responsibilities:
- Manage and facilitate all required state filings based on the company’s requirements
- Determine and oversee all physical and economic state nexus obligations based on employee and client requirements
- Apply for and handle registration for sales tax where applicable
- Setting up tax IDs for all necessary jurisdictions
- Implement all tax exempt customers and handle tax set up in our billing systems
- Input data into internal billing and tax programs and ensure existing data is correct

- Background knowledge of business state filing requirements paired with willingness and resourcefulness to learn more
- Strong time management skills and ability to track and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to multitask and oversee multiple projects and filings simultaneously
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
