Position: Secure DevOps Lead – Data Protection
Location: REMOTE
Overview
Individual will be responsible for oversight, maintenance, and improvement of support for data protection in a secure devops practice. Resource will work with application and technology teams to ensure the vision of the Gas Power Secure DevOps and Data Protection practices is realized.
Scope
Resource will be responsible for supporting implementation and automation of data protection security controls across cloud service providers, including protecting data at rest, in transit, and at the application and/or data layer.
Activities & Requirements
- Provide support and fine tuning of data protection tools such as field level encryption, malware protection (Cloud Workload Protection, Azure Defender, AWS Macie, etc), container security and other native cloud provider capabilities
- Advise technical and application teams on control implementation
- Support any technical issues as they arise
Desired Characteristics
- At least 2 years engineering and support experience for container (Docker/K8s/EKS/AKS), database, application & complex encryption technology (field/file level encryption, key management) and other data loss prevention capabilities and policy deployment
- At least 2 years engineering and support in a mature cloud (AWS and/or Azure preferred) based Secure DevOps architecture
- Strong experience developing and customizing solutions and/or scripting automation for DevOps or Cloud technology – Optimally including solutions such as inline field level encryption
- Experience working with agile methodologies and deliverables
- Strong experience with common data protection architecture with a cloud focus, covering encryption, key management and data loss prevention
- Experience with common database technology and development frameworks
Deliverables
- Implementing an operations plan for key technology noted above, working with key technology, application and Gas Power Enterprise Vulnerability Management teams
- Develop automated security configurations for key Azure and AWS PaaS including integration with key controls noted above
- Deploy cloud centric data protection capabilities including DLP, file access monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS Macie
- Timely resolution of support issues as they arise
- Improve documentation for key controls and security operations
Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Agile Applications Development, Support and Deployment.
