Software Secured is a leading Penetration Testing as a Service (PTaaS) company, with a head office in beautiful Ottawa, Canada. We help software development teams get ahead of hackers, using a suite of services and products.

We are seeking a Security Operations Director to join the team and help our clients continuously ship code faster and build more secure software. As a Security Operations Director, you will be a key leader at Software Secured. You will be responsible for a multitude of technical operations and consulting services that Software Secured clients and internal teams rely on to ensure the delivery of Software Secured value to its clients.

  • You are a software and network security subject matter expert, who cares deeply about clients' security posture and improving it while balancing their business needs.

  • You are a strong communicator in verbal and written form. You can translate technical information for a non-technical audience (and vice versa) and are comfortable with presentations and public speaking.
  • You’re a leader who embraces the opportunity to build and lead a service delivery team.
  • You have a track record of successfully setting and achieving goals.

What you bring:

  • 2-5 years experience managing a team of pentesters or red team engineers
  • At least 5 years of experience in client-facing role with a track record building relationships and solving technical and business challenges.
  • Strong project management experience, client follows, and wearing multiple hats.
  • A track record of building internal engagement and champions, given this position, will not have direct reports but will need to influence behavior, process, and outcomes across multiple departments
  • Technical aptitude, with experience and interest in application development, application security, network security, cloud operations, IT security and a willingness to continuously learn

In this role, your responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage new and existing client relationships
  • Act as the first line of support with client problems or issues
  • Create new processes and improve existing ones to help onboard new clients.
  • Work with clients to find creative solutions to close software, network and cloud security gaps.
  • Act as an evangelist to help our clients improve their security posture.
  • Consult with clients on different topics such as DevSecOps, security design principles, threat modeling, cloud security principles
  • Help manage our schedule to ensure maximum flexibility while achieving maximum resource utilization.
  • Work with the team to de-escalate client problems regarding scheduling, vulnerability resolutions, and other topics.
  • Own client net promoter score by ensuring clients receive the maximum value from Software Secured, follow-ups post pentest.
  • Identify upsell and renewals opportunities and prepare the sales team by initiating a technical discussion post pentest on scope, and business needs, ensuring they receive the value that was promised.
  • Collaborate with product team to assist in getting the customer voice to new feature development
