What we're looking for

Stytch is the platform for user authentication. We make it simple for developers to build complex, passwordless authentication flows in minutes. As an early sales hire, you’ll work alongside your team, cross-functional leaders, and the Head of Revenue to manage and shape our customers authentication experiences—with a keen focus on owning the enterprise space.

Our Sales Team is responsible for growing customers and revenue at Stytch. As a founding sales rep, you’ll be tasked with working with new and existing customers to deepen their usage and increase the amount of value they derive from Stytch. You’ll become a trusted advisor in the authentication space, and pitch Stytch’s offerings compellingly while demonstrating exemplary domain expertise over the product and broader authentication trends. You will be able to project manage complex sales cycles with upmarket customers, ensuring that you’ve engaged with multiple stakeholders at target companies and are in regular contact with counterparts at different companies. You will also demonstrate excellent sales techniques, including but not limited to:

  • Impactful and efficient discovery
  • Time and resource management
  • Comprehensive grasp of deal dynamics and close plans
  • Accurate forecasting and SFDC hygiene
  • Creative approach to closing business and outbound opportunity creation
  • Excellent time management and timely responses with customers

What Excites You

  • Building a world-class sales team from the ground-up, impacting both the culture and setting the standard for sales execution at Stytch
  • Developing a deep expertise and consultative relationship with early cultures, working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional and C-Suite partners to win deals and customers
  • Creating solutions and processes where they may not exist today, all in an effort to grow and scale a high-impact revenue organization
  • Working with a broad suite of customers ranging from the Fortune 100 to mid-size businesses, and deeply learning the needs and requirements of each

What Excites Us

  • Sales professionals with a history of quota attainment and overachievement, in particular people who have a background in selling technologically complex products
  • Experience working at early stage and hypergrowth companies, a proven ability to navigate ambiguity and maximize their impact at early stage companies
  • Ambitious candidates who are looking to grow their careers and gain valuable experience at a fast-paced startup
  • Stellar communicators who write clearly and concisely and are comfortable pitching to executives alongside internal collaborators (solutions engineers, management, C-suite partners)
  • You consistently research and demonstrate great preparation ahead of customer calls and interactions
  • 5+ years of quota-carrying experience, preferably at a technology company, with a track record of top performance

You will:

  • Grow Stytch’s customer base and revenue through high impact selling to upmarket and mid-size customers
  • Own the full sales cycle from introduction to close
  • Engage with Product and GTM teams to help shape our growth strategy, provide regular and detailed customer feedback on Stytch’s products and offerings
  • Collaborate deeply and co-sell with cross-functional partners like solutions engineers, management, the C-Suite, and product team members

What Success Looks Like

  • Customer and revenue growth — Successful sales reps will accelerate customer and revenue growth at Stytch
  • Communication — you are an extremely strong communicator with exceptional organizational skills
  • Builder mindset — You look at playbook and process gaps as an opportunity to build and iterate on new solutions to help you and the broader team achieve success

Meet the Hiring Manager

Pete grew up outside of Washington, DC and went to college in Northern California. He has played basketball his whole life, and briefly played professionally in Germany. After basketball, he had a few jobs before starting in technology sales, including working as a speechwriter in Austria and investment banker in Boston. Over the past decade he has worked in sales and GTM roles at fast-growing SaaS companies, and loves the challenge of building high-performing teams and healthy cultures. Outside of work he enjoys playing basketball (not as well as he once did), cooking, and watching movies.

The anticipated base salary is $125,000 plus commission. The anticipated base salary range is not inclusive of full benefits including equity, health care insurance, time off, paid parental leave, etc. This base salary is accurate based on information at the time of posting. Actual compensation for hired candidates will be determined using a number of factors including experience, skills, and qualifications.

We're looking to hire a GREAT team and that means hiring people who are highly empathetic, ambitious, and excited about building the future of user authentication. You should feel empowered to apply for this role even if your experience doesn't exactly match up to our job description (our job descriptions are directional and not perfect recipes for exactly what we need).

We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workspace where everyone (regardless of age, education, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or any personal characteristics) feels like they belong. We look forward to hearing from you!
