This year we’re continuing our product-fueled growth by adding new features to assist our customers with their DNS-layer security and broadening our solution to align with the Secure Web Gateway market.

As our company grows, we realize we have a missing piece and that’s where you come in! We are looking for a Senior Accountant to be a strategic and tactical member of the Accounting team. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and we encourage people to continually look for ways to improve processes and systems. This is a full-time, remote, US Based role.

You will:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely close of US GAAP financial statements
  • Prepare and oversee the prep of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Analyze revenue and expenses to ensure they are recorded accurately monthly and identify any unusual monthly trends
  • Own all parts of the billing cycle, including credits/write-offs, and assist the Billing Specialist in following up on past-due receivables
  • Oversee AR, AP, T&E and monthly credit card reconciliation process
  • Assist in ERP system implementations, GAAP audits, & tax compliance
  • Continually look for ways to improve processes and systems
  • Serve as the main point of contact on accounting-related issues including but not limited to billing, payables, & expenses
  • Additional ad-hoc projects as needed
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately in the payroll system, as well as reconciled on a monthly basis to the GL inclusive of variable compensation
  • Assist in following up on past-due receivables, churn risk, & customer retention
  • Publish policy documentation on various processes that impact accounting

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience, preferably a mix of public accounting and industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or similar experience)
  • A solid understanding of US GAAP and its application to private companies
  • The ability to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives while taking accountability for overall work
  • A strong work ethic, with the capability and desire to work in a dynamic and demanding environment to meet critical deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the desire to build and lead a cross-functional team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills—and you are a problem solver by nature
  • A demonstrated ability to identify potential issues before they occur and create new processes where warranted
  • Native English speaking (read/write/present) ability
  • Can work in a mostly EST environment
  • Experience working remotely

Bonus points for:

  • Having an active CPA license
  • Experience with a venture capital or private equity-backed companies
  • Ability to implement a scalable custom billing process & GAAP revenue reporting system
  • Netsuite experience
  • Has worked closely with HR

The hiring range for this role is: $92,000 - $108,000 USD Annually

DNSFilter is a pay-for-performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The hiring base pay is dependent upon many factors such as level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and/or geographic location. As a fully remote company, our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. and global geographic markets. We pay differently based on those defined markets.
