Role Description

Givebutter is hiring a Senior Accountant to be a founding member of our Accounting and Finance team. This role will report directly to our VP of Finance and Operations, Jordan Bauer, and prepare reports that are presented to leadership and the board. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. The right candidate will be excited to grow professionally and expand their skillset while contributing to Givebutter's success and enabling Changemaker's all over the world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage General Accounting: Handle daily accounting tasks such as managing the general ledger, reconciling bank statements, AP/AR, and maintaining balance sheet schedules.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and legislation.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Handle month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Financial Analysis and Forecasting: Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, analyze financial data, and assist in the creation of financial models for decision support.
  • Process Improvement: Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures. Help drive system implementations and process automations.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in preparation for audits, work closely with external auditors and manage the process to ensure a smooth and successful audit.
  • Tax Filing: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and coordinate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to support overall department goals and objectives. Explain complex financial information to non-finance colleagues as needed.
  • Support Management Team: Assist in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and other tasks as necessary

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of public accounting and/or industry experience in accounting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Proven, expert knowledge of excel
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Bonus: Prior startup experience
  • Bonus: Experience within the Fintech or Saas industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation
  • Tax experience

$85,000 - $100,000 a year
