Job Summary:

We are seeking an energetic Senior Accountant to lead the Salas O’Brien Finance & Accounting integrations for various mergers for our Corporate office. This critical employee will work in conjunction with other members of the Finance & Accounting team to support the post-merger integration tasks (financials reporting, bank change, accounting, system conversion, tax and FP&A etc.). A successful candidate would engage in a majority of our mergers and be responsible for ensuring that the integration efforts are organized and remove administrative burdens from the Operational Leadership. The candidate will help support the tactical integration, coordination and communication of tasks associated with a merger integration plan.

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with the Assistant Controller and Controller in developing and redefining integration plans that incorporate prior experience and industry best practices.
  • Support Finance integration plans and adherence to project milestones, work closely with Finance, M&A and Operations team.
  • Maintain integration plans and reports progress and key metrics.
  • Support all post-merger integration tasks (financial reporting, cash management, intercompany reconciliation, and fixed asset integration etc.).
  • Provide GAAP accounting guidance to the merger finance team members.
  • Provide timely and accurate monthly financial reporting for all mergers until the transition to BU finance team.
  • Communicate new finance and accounting processes to acquired entities and coordinate with the accounting department to resolve questions arising from their implementation.
  • Provide an excellent onboarding experience so that a trusted relationships are bult among the Corporate Finance team and key stakeholders in acquired companies.
  • Support the initial post close working capital calculation for all mergers where applicable.
  • Identify efficiencies in processes and procedures.

Skills/abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ Years of progressive accounting experience
  • Previous experience with integration, mergers, and acquisitions
  • Job Cost and Project Accounting experience
  • Experience with an Engineering/Architecture Company is preferred, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment and be able to meet strict monthly deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface/present to key stakeholders in acquired companies and the VP/Controller

Location: USA, Remote

Travel: Must have ability to travel as required (10% a year)
