Senior Accountant I, Corporate Accounting

Our Corporate Benefits Accounting team is seeking a Senior Accountant I to join the team. This role is an integral part of our accounting close and focuses on the accounting, reconciliation and analysis of various payroll and benefits matters. This position requires impeccable attention to detail, and ability to deliver timely results under tight deadlines.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/year end close journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain and prepare reconciliations between sub-ledger and general ledger for various payroll/benefits accounts.
- Perform financial statements flux analysis and provide relevant explanations to business/leadership.
- Participate in the validation of Choice Time Off, Floating holiday, and Sickpay year-end processes.
- Respond to audit requests, including preparing schedules, providing data, and resolving queries.
- Work with other teams across organization to research and resolve accounting issues.
- Maintain department policies and procedure documents.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Perform ad-hoc research and participate in projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment (strong in multi-tasking and prioritizing).
- Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to grasp new concepts and/or systems and technology quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Accounting close and subledger reconciliation experience using different financial ERP systems (knowledge of data structure and query tools). Experience with Peoplesoft and Workday a plus.
- Working knowledge of GAAP accounting.
- Experience with payroll accounting a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
The typical salary range for this position is $73,000 to $108,000. The salary is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
