Job Description
Must have minimum 1 year experience in core US mortgage residential underwriting (UK, Australia, NZ, other countries. need not apply)
- Maintain a working knowledge of US Mortgage Originations closing procedures, federal and state lending laws.
- Interpret investor guidelines FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and USDA and apply them to specific loans.
- Review all property documents (appraisal, purchase agreement, title, insurance, etc.) for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure that the property is structurally sound, meets agency guidelines & client overlays and determine the soundness and accuracy of the property appraisal report.
- Review the title & insurance documents to ensure sufficient coverage and all encumbrances, clauses on title have been adequately addressed.
- Audit the property documents from a salability standpoint daily and note any exceptions. Assess risk and review for Frauds and Red Flags.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have:
• Bachelor's degree
• A strong knowledge of mortgage loan documents.
