We are looking to hire a Regulatory Compliance Senior Analyst in the Legal Compliance team to manage and coordinate ongoing compliance with local, state, federal, and ISO level regulatory standards for operating facilities. This individual will come into the role with an understanding of the regulatory drivers of electricity markets and energy storage facilities and will be highly analytic and detail oriented. In this role, you will be focused on tracking and managing regulatory compliance of all pre-operational and operational assets in the Plus Power fleet. This role will work closely with and support the Asset and Risk Management Group to ensure operational assets are meeting all regulatory requirements and operating efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of contracts and other legal agreements, with particular focus on monitoring continual compliance adherence in the electric regulatory space
  • Work with Asset and Risk Management and Policy teams to assess, track, and manage all relevant rules, regulations, and protocols of governmental and quasi-governmental entities (NERC, FERC, PUCT, TRE, ERCOT, WECC) as they apply to the operations of Plus Power’s battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Assess and manage the impact of new NERC Standards with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure regulatory filings and audit requirements are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • In conjunction with Asset and Risk Management and Policy, track the development of new or revised rules, regulations, protocols, and standards with respect to project operations to ensure compliance
  • Participate in preparation of materials for monthly compliance work plan meetings
  • Assist with management of compliance program including loading new obligations and reviewing abstracted agreements
  • Send reminders to departments in advance of contractual obligations coming due and ensure departments adhere to requirements
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, partners, and internal employees for compliance matters related to operating Plus Power’s assets
  • Identify problem spots when it comes to fulfilling compliance standards, and help develop recommendations to improve organizational procedures
  • Provide guidance as needed to other operational staff to increase compliance-related competencies throughout the organization
  • Work with third-party compliance contractors to support the implementation and ongoing management of NERC Compliance programs for Plus Power’s operating projects
  • Support ISO market registration compliance function and ongoing ISO market participation compliance obligations for operating assets in ERCOT, WECC, and ISONE

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in the operations, planning, or regulatory compliance functions related to the energy industry
  • Experience working with contracts and maintaining document management systems
  • An ability to read, understand, research, interpret, and summarize laws, standards, rules, and regulations
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • NERC, FERC, and ISO compliance experience preferred 

Compensation, Location, and Benefits

Highly competitive total compensation from one of North America’s leading energy storage developers, owners and operators. Flexible, work from home or hybrid work from Plus Power’s offices in San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, and Palm Beach.

The expected salary range* for this position begins at $98,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
