🚀 Your mission as the Senior Backend Engineer!

As our Senior Backend Engineer, your primary responsibility will be executing deployments and managing code review and approval processes before any code is merged into the main branches. You will ensure that the codebase remains clean and optimised for production. Additionally, you will be in charge of fixing critical issues that may arise in production, and ensuring minimal downtime. 

You will be working on:

  • CSGORoll: the world’s #1 skin gaming site. A community social gaming platform targeted towards CS2 players, featuring unique in-house custom-built games such as Roulette, Crash, Unboxing, and PVP.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Execute backend deployments and ensure smooth integration across systems.
  • Review and approve code before merging into main branches, maintaining high standards of code quality.
  • Develop backend architecture strategies to align with the company’s long-term goals.
  • Continuously identify and address tech debt, ensuring the backend systems are optimized for scalability.
  • Oversee backend refactors to prepare the code base for the company's evolving strategy.
  • Optimize backend database performance and improve testing systems, identifying areas for improvement and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate closely with TechOps to improve CI/CD processes, infrastructure, and address development issues.
  • React quickly to critical errors in production, providing rapid fixes to maintain smooth operations.
  • Ensure continuous backend service monitoring to maintain high-performance metrics.

Job requirements

You will thrive in this role if you have:

  • 3+ years of backend development (Node.js and TypeScript) experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role within the iGaming or Gambling industry.
  • Strong expertise in backend architecture, release management, and performance optimization.
  • Experience in database performance analysis and optimization, particularly with PostgreSQL, including strong knowledge of query performance analysis.
  • Proven experience in executing deployments and managing code review/approval processes.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, specifically Apollo GraphQL.
  • Experience with Jest for backend testing is preferred.
  • Experience with AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT; knowledge of Cursor is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly resolve critical production issues and work under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a focus on team collaboration and problem-solving.
