Senior Backend Engineer

Array is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the digital finance team. Our digital finance team plays a crucial role in developing innovative solutions for managing financial data and transactions securely. Through our robust backend systems, we empower enterprises across various sectors to integrate advanced financial functionalities into their products using our scalable and cutting-edge APIs. Our consumer-facing platforms cater to millions of users, offering them tools to manage their finances effectively. As a Backend Engineer, you will be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and spend most of your time writing code to enhance our digital finance offerings.
This position will have an abbreviated interview process and those selected will be given an opportunity to participate in a paid work trial environment (typically for 3 months on engineering roles) as a contractor (40hrs a week). In those months, you will be expected to action ambiguous tasks, begin writing code, and work closely with the senior director of engineering in this product group. We can support 1099 or C2C for the trial period. Upon successful completion of the trial we may consider and agree to full time employment.
This position (if converted to FTE), as all engineering positions at Array, will be subject to on call rotations.
You Will:
- Lead the development and design of back-end components, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions for our fintech products.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical implementations.
- Design and implement robust APIs and microservices in Go, Node.js, and other relevant technologies.
- Architect and optimize the application infrastructure on cloud platforms like GCP or AWS, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security.
- Dive into complex technical challenges, applying your problem-solving skills to find innovative solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to our development processes and technologies, staying ahead of industry trends and best practices.
You have:
- Experience in backend API development using preferably Go or Node.js, ensuring robust and efficient server-side operations.
- Strong architectural design skills, allowing you to translate problem statements into well-designed applications.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, leveraging their services for scalable and reliable solutions.
- Collaboration experience with product teams, establishing strong partnerships to align technical solutions with product goals.
- Hands-on database skills with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, as well as working knowledge of document databases.
- Proven ability to anticipate and build for scale, ensuring applications can handle increasing loads and user demands.
- Track record of solving complex problems at scale, demonstrating your analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to convert APIs into reusable components, optimizing code efficiency and maintainability.
Pay Transparency: $50.00 per hour for the work trial.
