About the role:
Our systems are built around eCommerce, tracking orders, order placement, returns, and inventory and search. We're proud of our best-in-class tooling that includes a GraphQL API, a gRPC backend system, and Node.js services.
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our fully remote team.
What you'll do:
- Develop features and build infrastructure to integrate with external platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce
- Build and maintain high-quality APIs for eCommerce, focusing on tracking orders, order placement, returns, and search engines
- Stand up new infrastructure on GCP
- Write high-quality documentation for developers
- Deliver large projects end to end, coordinating features across team members and systems
- Communicate updates proactively
- Work independently and with a remote-first team
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in backend engineering
- Proficiency in Typescript and Node.js
- Experience building systems with a GraphQL API and a gRPC backend system
- Strong understanding of best practices in software development and engineering
- Experience working with external platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
- Good technical writer
