Senior Business Product Owner
Overview:
Responsible for supporting First Citizens BancShares’ ERM Technology team through strategic program guidance of the enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance platform and core capabilities. Support will focus on critical risk management processes primarily within Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management and Compliance. This role will lead the effort to help foster mature risk management practices and processes in the first and second lines of defense through tactical planning conversations and the development of key business artifacts to assist in the evolution of the bank’s GRC program.
*This position can work remote from anywhere within the United States.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight of ERM Technology Product Managers:
- Develop / own foundational documents used as artifacts for the ERM Technology team and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Manage employees / contractors to ensure adequate coverage of all GRC products
- Create a process to aid in the strategic management and growth of GRC products through development of a backlog and continuous improvement process
Work with various risk programs to develop and guide risk management maturity:
- Work with first- and second-lines of defense, ERM Technology, and IT associates to gather requirements and develop solutions on the GRC platforms
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog of solutions within your portfolio
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the GRC program
- Assist with the coordination of the GRC roadmap
Participate in ERM Technology systems development lifecycle:
- Provide support for ERM Technology projects through development of artifacts
- Ensure project timelines are adequately scoped and met
- Assist in the production of project health reporting within our portfolio
- Participate in project calls, as needed, and serve as a liaison between the ERM Technology team and business partners
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Risk Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Risk Management
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to comprehend and translate complex business requirements into detailed artifacts, including business requirements, user stories and process flows
- Proven problem solver with ability to provide in-depth analysis of complex problems, manage risk and make quick decisions
- Keen sense for identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of various risk programs through process automation
- Experience as a user or administrator within a GRC system (Archer, ProcessUnity, etc.)
- Knowledge of various bank/government regulatory requirements and processes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional organization, analysis, decision making and problem resolution skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives
- Advanced PC Skills including Microsoft Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
Other Preferred Qualifications:
- Archer Certified Administrator certification
- Project Management Professional certification
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $113,000 to $150,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.
