Senior Compensation Analyst
Job Profile Summary
Performs staff support activities to develop, implement, and administer compensation policies and programs. Audits jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements. Participates in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position. Reviews proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices. Recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems. Reviews requests for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate salary grade assignment. Formulates recommendations regarding development of company salary structure, FLSA exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures. Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of action. May prepare special studies and recommendations on subjects such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation or stock options.
JOB COMPLEXITY (COE):
- Conducts complex analyses of jobs, hourly wages, salaries, and incentives in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the organization's pay practices.
- Conducts market pricing for all roles.
- Makes recommendations regarding salary grades or market rates for specific jobs and assists in the development of incentive programs and the administration of performance review or merit-rating programs.
- Develops and/or participates in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position.
- Conducts analysis on subjects such as salary, incentive compensation, bonus plans, sales compensation, or stock options.
- Advanced knowledge to develop, implement, and administer compensation policies and programs.
- Analysts will need advanced skills to review requests for new or revised classifications to update career maps.
- Demonstrable interpersonal, presentation, organizational and communication skills. Able to interact well all levels of management.
- Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Able to multi-task.
- Ability to communicate technical information and ideas so others will understand.
- Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
- Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.
- Provide guidance and mentorship for the Compensation Analyst I and II roles.

- Advanced knowledge of principles and theories of compensation administration.
- Advanced knowledge of job analysis, documentation and descriptions.
- Advanced knowledge of legal regulations affecting compensation administration, including, but not limited to, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Pay Act, Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
- Ability to create and sustain productive relationships with stakeholders.
- Team player, able to work successfully as part of a team and collaborate effectively with other departments.
- Ability to provide information to internal peers and stakeholders on compensation administration in layman's terms.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to focus on details.
- Desire to work with numbers and formulas.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel modeling; MS Access skills a plus.
- Ability to provide FANATICAL support.
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources with a concentration in Compensation preferred.
- Certification in compensation desirable.
- Requires 5-7 years of experience in Compensation. Experience with administration of domestic and international programs.
$75,800 - $129,580 a year
For applicants working in California, Colorado, Washington or New York City, we are excited to share the base salary ranges for this position exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonus. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
• The anticipated starting pay range of California, Washington state and New York City applicants for this role is $88,400 - $129,580.
• The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $75,800 - $111,210.
• These ranges for candidates may be modified in the future.
Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
