Who You Are

TabaPay is looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to support both merchant acquiring and AML activities. Duties will include, conducting merchant due diligence and risk assessments, documenting policies and procedures, and developing subject matter expertise on company’s customers. This is a customer and business facing role, the right candidate will have strong project management experience with extremely strong communication skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead compliance reviews of customers addressing BSA, AML, OFAC, other applicable laws and regulations, and reputational risk.
  • Recommend approval status of customer based on compliance review.
  • Interface with customers, banks, and card networks helping to get customers approved for acquiring sponsorship by confidently communicating their business model and payments use case.
  • Enhance standard operating procedures and compliance policies.
  • Manage and conduct annual compliance risk assessments of onboarded merchants.
  • Document and manage special projects related to specific customer needs.
  • Design, document, and enforce compliance-related processes.
  • Document learnings and contribute to strategic risk management discussions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in payments industry; preference given to those with experience at a regulated entity (such as an MSB, bank, brokerage, or lender), aquirer processor, payment facilitator, or registered payment independent sales organization (ISO).
  • Extensive eperience conducting due diligence throughout a customer’s life cycle
  • Subject matter expert of BSA/AML, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), OFAC, independent testing, and other compliance topics
  • Working knowledge of card network rules a plus (Mastercard, Visa, Amex, Discover, or regional debit network) 
  • Passion for fintech and innovation; excitement in learning about new verticals and the risks they present.  
  • Passion for process improvement and experience with designing, building and documenting processes, with an emphasis on automation 
  • Analytical skills; demonstrated ability to translate complex technical and compliance related information to various stakeholders
  • A proactive self-starter that can be successful in a start-up environment 
  • Experience documenting and improving processes
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsiveness to customer needs and demonstrates customer intuition
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

The pay range for this position is $135,000-$145,000 for base pay; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits as listed below, dependent on the position offered.
