Senior Content Developer (Psychology)

We're looking for a Psychology Lead Instructor to develop video academic content for our students.

You’ll be working to develop awesome Psychology curriculum for Pearson+ Channels, a platform with the potential to help millions of students around the world get better grades.

Experience:

  • Ideal candidate is an engaging storyteller who can communicate clearly and effectively on complex topics in video format
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, or equivalent experience required
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required
  • Private tutoring experience required
  • Experience teaching/tutoring undergraduate or high school students within the last 3 years required
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate a variety of different projects and individuals and to adapt to unforeseen and unexpected requests or changes in priorities required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in a teamwork environment required
  • Coachable team player with a growth-mindset required
  • High attention to detail required
  • Willingness to contribute towards building video content for subjects outside one's domain of expertise
  • High degree of technical literacy, including the ability to be trained in utilizing video recording equipment required
  • Advanced degree in Psychology, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Some instructional experience in college or high school setting preferred
  • Experience creating educational video content preferred
  • Experience with and/or willingness to engage with students on social media preferred
  • Experience with online tutoring preferred
  • Management/leadership experience, including personnel leadership, scheduling, resource allocation, mentoring, and training preferred
  • Experience in assessment, curriculum development, instruction, and/or educational publishing preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop/oversee development of new video-based courses in the Psychology sciences
  • Build Psychology curricula across multiple subjects and for a wide variety of textbooks
  • Assist towards building lower division biology related content, as needed
  • Use a variety of materials, including but not limited to textbooks, practice problems, class PowerPoints, and student notes to prepare relevant lesson handouts for students watching our video-based courses
  • Work with our team of writers, illustrators, and educators to develop a comprehensive [subject] video-based curriculum, including building lessons and recording content to be distributed to millions of students
  • Assist with hiring of future educators who are hired to contribute to video-based curriculum development
  • Provide training to individuals as needed both during the course of everyday business and as special needs or circumstances arise; assist in the development of training materials
  • Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as required

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. As required by the Colorado and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The anticipated starting salary for candidates expressing interest in this full-time position is $75,000- $125,000.
