POSITION SUMMARY

We’re looking for an experienced writer who’s passionate about telling customer and product stories to help us build our rapidly growing content library. You’ll inform and inspire audiences on all the possibilities of building a distributed workforce and make it easy for them to understand all the ins and outs of employing a global workforce.

As our Senior Content Writer, you should be a seasoned storyteller with strong product marketing knowledge—someone who can distill key narratives from complex concepts to create impactful, thought-provoking content. To be successful, you’ll need to hit the ground running, quickly understand what we do, and navigate ambiguity and cross-functional approvals and workflows.

Reporting to the Copy Director, the Senior Content Writer will work closely with the copywriters and editors on the Creative Team to ensure all assets are accurate, on-brand, and engaging for both internal and external audiences. As a lead writer on the team, you should be comfortable collaborating closely with senior stakeholders and managing your own workflows and approvals when needed.

This individual will report to the Creative Director, Copy - GTM - Marketing - Branding

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and develop case studies, blog posts, presentations, email campaigns, product marketing materials, and related deliverables. 
  • Collaborate closely with design partners and key stakeholders throughout the Marketing organization and across the company—including Brand, Sales, Customer Service, and Account teams—on projects and programs.
  • Create and develop highly engaging content experiences that inspire potential customers and internal sales teams. 
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of our company’s use cases, marketing strategy, and audiences.
  • Develop questions and conduct interviews with customers, potential customers, and employees.
  • Gather and document interview insights into demographic, firmographic, and psychographic profiles.
  • Craft email campaigns for both Marketo and Outreach to support marketing goals 
  • Function as an independent contributor with a leadership mindset, showing strong ownership over project quality and success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Advertising, Communications, or Marketing
  • 8+ years of professional writing experience, with at least three years as a Product Marketing or Case Study writer or in a similar position
  • 5+ years of experience working cross-functionally with internal marketing and/or sales teams
  • 3+ years of interviewing clients, product users, and prospects 
  • Solid interview skills—you walk away with an in-depth story and lots of supporting quotes 
  • Experience writing short-form, long-form, and journalistic copy
  • Experience writing in a specific voice according to brand guidelines
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and simplify to varying degrees for different audiences
  • Ability to interpret both strategy and creative direction
  • Confident juggling several open projects at once and keeping the versions and edits organized
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment 
  • Self-sufficient when it comes to quickly seeking answers and clarity in ambiguous situations
  • You sweat the small stuff when it comes to crafting polished, eloquent copy (but can embrace our brand’s use of the Oxford comma even if you personally oppose it)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact efficiently and diplomatically with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and internal clients
  • Experience with Google Suite, PowerPoint, Airtable, and Asana preferred
