Senior Copywriter
Description
Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this role is critical to the company, as you will be generating all public-facing messaging/marketing for the company–this role must understand the brand inside and out, target audiences, product releases, and company communication. You must be comfortable speaking to customers, senior executives and stakeholders across the entire company.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing the company tone and voice, and shaping a messaging brief for all target audiences, ultimately informing the brand direction. Further, you will steer the messaging over time, as we grow as a company.
This is a very broad copy role, so you’ll be working on social media, web copy, long-form pieces, sales collateral, video scripts, headlines and taglines. This is a tremendous time to join our effort, as the company has aggressive growth goals over the next few years. This is a senior-level position who will work very closely with our lead designer role for the execution of creative campaigns.
Key Qualifications
- Accomplished and experienced senior content developer
- Ability to tell a product story in few words, while maximizing SEO opportunities
- Someone who’s adept at creating thoughtful, smart, efficient, and motivational marketing copy
- Not precious about vehicle–must be comfortable in long-form, short-form, headers and blog posts
- Excellence at understanding, defining, and refining/evolving customer personas
- The ideal candidate has either worked in an agency, on an in-house marketing team in a similar function
- Adept at owning messaging all-up in the company; can structure, author and manage an editorial calendar; this will be yours to own
- Experience delivering print and digital creative copy a must
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
- Thinks strategically while operating tactically
Requirements
- 5 years experience in copywriting, preferably B2B - huge bonus if you have experience in construction tech
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or marketing
- Experience with a content management system, preferably Wordpress
- Experience with a marketing automation platform
- Must have a portfolio of published work
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Must have SEO experience
- Great under deadline pressure
