Senior Copywriter
Location
On-site in our New York office is preferred, but remote working on the East Coast or UK is also considered.
Job Desription
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Copywriter to interpret client corporate style and any messaging strategy that either already exists or comes from an internal process and develop a wide range of content to meet the needs of our clients in Life Sciences. Content development will inevitably require thorough research on industry-related topics, generation of ideas and content origination for projects, and proofreading of work to ensure quality.
Essential Functions
- Develop sufficient expertise in clients' subject matter through web searches, interview responses, and client material to originate marketing material with technical authority and accuracy.
- Edit industry-specific original material into appropriate compelling copy relative to the application and audience, achieving client approval.
- Generate content for digital marketing, web, brochures, sell/tech sheets, video concepts and scripts, advertising, blog posts, thought leadership articles and other projects.
- Take accurate briefs from an account manager or client - interpret client needs, communicate internally and work with a full project team to provide ideas and the written aspect of solutions.
- Respond rapidly and proactively to internal feedback or client direction, absorbing this feedback into the project evolution.
- Organize text drafts and ideas into formal documents (using That's Nice Microsoft Word template), without spelling or grammatical mistakes. All documents must be professionally completed within the (provided) company template suitable for external distribution.
- Present ideas to a group in a focused, succinct, and structured way, adapting your style so that the audience understands the issues being communicated.
- Oversee, supervise, and work with more junior copywriters, and contribute to their development.
- Additional roles relative to a range of creative or content-based projects, as required.
Required competencies and experience
- Experience within and knowledge of the Life Science industry.
- Scientific or technical writing experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience producing marketing content for various tactics within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and broader life sciences.
- Proven experience conducting subject matter research in complex areas to further understanding, and using the findings in content development.
- Comfort working within a team of other writers and strategists, account managers, researchers, designers, and other roles, integrating and compromising effectively on project development with the common goal of exceeding each client's needs and expectations.
- Previous agency experience is advantageous.
Education / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Science communication qualification or relevant postgraduate degree is advantageous
