Senior DevOps Application Developer

As a DevOps Software Engineer in the Client Value Stream, you will develop DevOps tools, patterns, and processes for the USM front office technology Group. This important role is responsible for designing and developing DevOps Strategies as well as enhancing, debugging and fixing the current infrastructure systems that manage USM front office technology data. You will be responsible for evaluating and improving processes around continuous integration, continuous deployment, automation, quality engineering, security and cost management. This role will require passionate and deep technology knowledge with hands-on development experience, as well as an ability to understand the broader Business vision and process so design aligns across the experience. The DevOps Engineer will support Software Engineers, QA, Product Management, and Support teams as well as work closely with Enterprise Architecture and Software Engineering leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect/Develop and advance team capabilities in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment for Cloud and on-premise applications.

Collaborate with Application Development teams on DevOps patterns, best practices, approved technologies and tools & solutions.

Enhance processes and integration with Jenkins for Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATTD) and Test Driven Development (TDD) across USM applications

Lead and collaborate with technical, application, and security leads to deliver a reliable and secure platform in AWS clouds

Provide technical governance for infrastructure design, deployment, and operations.

Build DevOps Technology for USM Platforms that are modern, scalable & highly available

Ensure Cost management is within budget guidelines for all USM services

Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure

Enhance our monitoring tools, build infrastructure and source code management

Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible

Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management

Coordination and communication within the team and with customers

Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline ( CI/CD Pipeline)

Mentoring and guiding the team members

Plan, Drive and Deliver Innovative Reusable DevOps Solutions for Cigna Health Services

Design DevOps components to manage within the applications

Influence communication effort to ensure that applications and infrastructure leaders are fully aware of guidance and preference of solution approach

Required Experience / Qualifications:

7+ years building all facets of large scale, modular DevOps platforms

Desired Experience / Qualifications:

Promote an infrastructure-as-code philosophy, leveraging tools like Terraform, Ansible, helm, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, and Docker.

Strong hands on experience with AWS , Openshift , Kubernetes , migrating solutions to cloud

Experience with various DevOps tools and technologies such as uDeploy, Ansible Tower, Artifactory, Maven, Jenkins, Ant, and Liquibase.

Implement and deliver solutions to improve the availability, scalability, latency, cost effectiveness, and efficiency of our services. Solve complex problems for critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.

Experience administrating technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Postgres, Tableau, DynamoDB, Adobe,OKTA,Pega and smartcommunications.

Experience with AWS services like EC2, EKS, ECR, IAM Roles/Policies, etc..

Experience with SSL expertise, certificates, authorities, renovation/rotation of identities, Architectural patterns and concepts, stateful/stateless apps, workload balancing, ACL, policies, federated authorization, OAuth.

Experience with load balancers, configuration management tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, and common networking equipment.

Experience with monitoring tools like (SPLUNK, Fluentbit, Dynatrace, AWS Cloudwatch metrics and monitoring, etc.).

Experience in scripting or programming languages (Python, Shell, PowerShell, etc.)

Strong experience working on public/private cloud platforms and on-premise solutions.

Experience managing and configuring large scale infrastructure solutions.

Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Effectively manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize conflicting assignments, and switch quickly between assignments, as required.

Experience with the Software Development lifecycle is required

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 105,600 - 176,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
