Senior DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, triage & tune all aspects of our production and non-production environments.
- Actively participate in capacity planning, scale testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Prepare alert handling procedures, runbooks, and collaborate with the rest of Midas engineering & platform teams
- Automate deployment and orchestration of services into both cloud & on-prem environments
Job requirements
Key Requirements & Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on Linux administration & troubleshooting experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift, EKS)
- General knowledge on operating systems, distributed systems and networking concepts
- A strong understanding of security principles on both server & application side
- Ability to implement and coordinate telemetry using monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, Graylog
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts (zones, regions, VPCs, object storage, etc.)
- An understanding of a variety of software service deployment packaging, strategies, and tooling
- Working understanding of common authentication schemes, certificates, and securely managing secrets
- Experience with configuration management automation such as Terraform and Ansible
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years in a DevOps, or Infrastructure focused role
- Working experience in at least one of the following databases: PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hazelcast, Redis
- Experience in message brokers such as Kafka
- Automation advocate - you truly believe in removing operational load via software
