Responsibilities
- Has an excellent, hands-on understanding of tools and techniques required to plan, build, and run a development (DevOps) pipeline for container-based, cloud-based services.
- Clearly articulate, define, and execute on pipeline strategic vision based on business and engineering objectives.
- With other architects, develop architecture standards for containerization and deployment designs.
- Develop architecture standards and practices for pipeline development, enhancement, and maintenance
- Solve complex problems related to Oracle IT services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence .
- Identify opportunities and drive the implementation of automation to improve service health, manageability, reliability, and telemetry.
- Ability to read, write, configure, design, and script end-to-end service telemetry, alerting and self-healing capabilities for platforms.
- Authoring functional and technical documentation.
- You will be responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance with authority for end-to-end performance and operability.
- A deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies is required.
- As a member of Oracle IT SRE team, candidate is responsible for managing and supporting various corporate services like Oracle.com, Java.com, Blogs.oracle.com, Community.oracle.com etc.
Qualifications
- Four years of bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Excellence in verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate with all levels during critical events and be a bridge for technical discussion with non-technical people.
- At least 4 years hands-on experience with containers in Production Environments – preferably Docker and Kubernetes Orchestration
- 5+ years of experience running large scale customer facing web services in a DevOps/SRE environment
- Experience implementing CICD strategies & Container deployments using Helm charts
- Configuring and designing service mesh and discovery using LinkerD , Consul, or Istio.
- Experience working with Kubernetes ingress services such as Contour and Envoy
- Building Observability solutions and exposing metrics that feed SLO’s and KPI’s
- Experience in Kubernetes to deploy scale, load balance and manage Docker containers with multiple names spaced versions.
- Must have experience with containers and / or container management systems, such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, etc.
- Deep knowledge of build automation tools, such as Jenkins, Ansible, Packer, etc. is required.
- Good knowledge of cloud deployment tools, such as Chef, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
- Strong Technical background with an ability to troubleshoot issues impacting large scale service architectures and application stacks.
- 3 + years of d emonstrable experience in one or more scripting/programming languages such as GO, Python, Ruby and etc.
- Experience leveraging cloud architecture, applying site reliability principles, and/or demonstrating sensitivity to operational concerns
- Familiarity with large scale cloud networking infrastructure, including network architectures, DNS, TCP/IP protocols, firewall management, routing, switching, ACLs, SSL/TLS
- 3+ years of e xperience utilizing Cloud Infrastructure such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure , Azure, AWS, OpenStack, GCP
- Cloud Service monitoring and incident management
- Master of source code management for large teams using frameworks such as GIT, GITHub , Terraform, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Docker
- Full-stack troubleshooting skills across network, application, hardware, management fabric, and distributed services layers
- Strong know how of CURL, Postman, JSON . CURL Knowledge and using CURL to Request
- Flexible work times to enable working with team members in other time zones (Early and Late conferences)
- Experience to work with offshore teams is a plus
- Experience in 24x7 operational support
