The Role:

This role has the opportunity to create an industry leading online marketing capability. You will play a pivotal role in driving growth and scale in our web focused marketing channels and be responsible for the end to end design, strategy and delivery key channels such as SEM, affiliate marketing, SEO and CRM. You will also take on the exploration of new capabilities such as our lower funnel activation, customer retention and on-site merchandising. These capabilities represent a significant growth opportunity for Gametime and the individual will play an important cross-company leadership role, being the primary interface with product, supply and analytics teams. They will also represent efforts to scale our Web business in leadership discussions. Given the size of the opportunity ahead, this is one of the most critical and strategic roles we are bringing into Gametime.

What you'll do:

  • Design the marketing strategy to scale our web focused business
  • Directly manage strategy, planning and execution of direct marketing channels including affiliates, SEM, SEO and CRM
  • Create a holistic strategy that allows us to be best in class at search marketing; considering areas such as event catalogue management, landing page experience and the broader user journey, plus data analysis and automation 
  • Develop strong partnerships with external stakeholders such as Google to ensure we are participating in and contributing to new product innovation
  • Manage the relationship with product and supply teams to ensure strong alignment between traffic acquisition and key conversion and margin drivers
  • Create an on-site content platform strategy that balances marketing objectives including lower funnel search behavior, improved user engagement and brand development
  • Analyze the end to end customer lifecycle with Gametime to identify opportunities to convert, upsell and retain customers
  • Partner with our Fan Happiness group to build fan trust, and align customer communication around the point of transaction and event experience
  • Build a world class experimentation strategy to develop a strong understanding of marketing effectiveness and incrementality 
  • Explore new growth opportunities in areas such as customer activation and on-site event merchandising

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 10+ years experience in highly analytical and technical marketing roles, focused on DTC businesses
  • Strong background in search marketing, with demonstrated experience scaling the channel with best in class use of advanced analytics and automation
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in leadership roles to align growth strategies across multiple functions, with an understanding in particular of how to partner with conversion focused product teams
  • A strong understanding of multiple marketing channels with evidence of driving impact and growth through direct management 
  • A highly quantitative and technical approach to managing large data sets and driving application to scale marketing activities 
  • Application of technology to automate processes within marketing and drive greater accuracy and responsiveness in marketing optimization 
  • A good understanding of marketing tracking and analytics solutions
  • A strong understanding of customer lifecycle management and the impact marketing can have at driving user adoption 
  • Demonstrated experience building rigorous experimentation strategies to assess overall effectiveness and incrementality 
  • Strong analytical skills using data to tackle problems and translate results into recommendation; able to see trends and to extract actionable insights from data to drive results 
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Executive level communication skills, written and verbal
