Senior Editor, Arts - The Week

The Week is looking for a smart, nimble writer with experience in deadline writing to cover books and other arts and entertainment for our national magazine.

As the Senior Editor, you will be able to distill a broad range of opinion into sharp, succinct, and lively summaries in The Week's distinctive style. You will report to the Deputy Editor of The Week US.

What you'll be doing...

  • Assessing the most important developments in the week in culture, including the new releases most worthy of discussion
  • Sifting, blending, and contrasting the opinions of various reviewers to providers readers a grasp of the conversation around each chosen release
  • Writing the equivalent of roughly three pages for every issue in formats that prioritize compression, clarity, and wit
  • Participating in the arts team's weekly content planning

Please note, the salary range for this position is $65,000 -$70,000

This is a remote based position OR a hybrid position working out of our NYC office, working three days from the office, two from home
