We’re a closely knit and high-powered team tasked to help the Americas Sales Organization navigate unchartered waters towards positioning VMware as a Hybrid and Multi-Cloud, Cloud-Smart company. You will be challenged to help develop and enable strong, healthy growth for the Americas (AMER) Core Sales organization.

We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager on our AMER Sales Finance team to drive our key FP&A processes for the sales organization. This is a critical and highly visible role which involves active involvement not only in planning, forecasting and management of our P&L, but also in deal reviews, analytics and strategic decision support. You will be an integral link between the business and the broader finance team and will have the opportunity to develop a full end-to-end view of what it takes to manage a growing AMER business at scale. You will be a good fit if you have experience delivering in and influencing a GTM organization, especially within SaaS. This includes possessing strong analytical ability, willingness to roll up your sleeves with a “can-do” attitude, sound business acumen and a skilled communicator with a history of building relationships and trust across various stakeholder levels.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Your primary objectives will include the following:

  • Leading bi-annual planning and AMER target-setting process including the use and management of our Anaplan application
  • Key point of contact and GEO lead with the WW Segment teams
  • Strengthening the financial management of the AMER Sales organization, including identification and evaluation of risks, opportunities and recommendations
  • Providing business and strategic decision support including top-line growth, transition to SaaS, resource allocation and organization health
  • Drive scalable programs /processes in planning, forecasting, reporting, and insights/analytics/enablement (ACV, ARR, consumption, logo acquisition, etc.)
  • Enable SaaS and Subscription reporting, analytics, and key metrics, in support of transition to SAAS
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales operations, other FP&A groups as well as accounting and broader GTM teams
  • Mentoring junior members on the team

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Your scope will span multiple impactful areas, including geo financial planning, analysis, reporting and quarterly guidance.
  • You will provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to SVP of Americas sales /VP of sales operations and help sales team drive toward desired business and financial outcomes. Partnership with the extended finance and accounting community is critical to the role’s success, ensuring alignment across a variety of key planning, reporting and modeling activities and operating with One VMware mindset.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You will be reporting to the Director of AMER Sales Finance who oversees the AMER Core FP&A organization. This is a lean, high-performing team that focuses on identifying and collaboratively driving initiatives that deliver the highest impact to the organization. As financial stewards of the Americas organization, we help identify opportunities, manage risks and ensure resource allocation is done wisely.

We’re looking for someone who is able to effectively navigate change, preferably someone who has had experience in SaaS, or guiding an organization financially towards SaaS. The person should have a strong sense of ownership and commitment to results, collaborative disposition, and the willingness to mentor junior members on the team. If you have experience working in corporate finance or sales finance, are a self-starter who takes charge of complex tasks with minimal direction and develops effective ways of approaching business challenges independently and pro-actively, you will enjoy the role.
