Senior FP&A Analyst

Financial Reporting Analysts are often required to make recommendations for action by synthesizing financial information and trends. Financial reporting analysts create tools or systems, including databases and spreadsheets, to improve financial data analysis and reporting as well as to identify ways to re-engineer current reports and process.

As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you will identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs. You will work closely with internal teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. You will provide data that is accurate, congruent and reliable, and ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems

Responsibilities

  • Prepare P&L reports as well as provide assistance in the review of financial results and the preparation of financial analysis package.
  • Support a combination of reporting and analysis functions and assist in the development of key indicators/ratios to better analyze financial results.
  • Use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to create financial statements, donor reports, income statements and balance sheets, while ensuring accurate financial reporting for various departments and management.
  • Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models for decision support.
  • Prepare documentation that reflects company's financial standing.
  • Compile information that is issued to internal and external sources and is used to create budgets and conduct audits.
  • Guide cost analysis process by highlighting & enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts with related explanations and recommending actions.

Education

  • 7+ years advanced financial reporting experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance – MBA in Finance preferred

Qualifications

  • Must have strong analytical (quantitative as well as qualitative) skills including building models; expert at data mining.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required; familiarity with data query/data management tools extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
  • Proven experience with NetSuite and Adaptive Insights or other robust planning, budgeting and forecasting applications.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Working knowledge applying Super-Circular OMB - preferred
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks next challenge and proposes solutions.
  • Excellent management skills, including organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting performance metrics
