Senior Frontend Engineer, Activation

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Activation team, responsible for helping more people succeed with Webflow and become customers. You will help us build engineering projects that impact new user onboarding, in-product education, lifecycle campaigns, and experimentation. Everything you work on will have a direct and measurable impact on Webflow’s business metrics and trajectory. If you have a mix of frontend and backend development, strong systems and product thinking, owned projects end to end in the past, and want to use your technical skills to drive business growth, this role could be a great fit. We are a highly autonomous team, and we spend a lot of time understanding customer behaviors and then work with cross-functional partners to define and launch tests.

About the role 

  • Location: Remote-first (United States; BC & ON, Canada)

  • Our cash compensation amount for this role ranges from $130,000 - $178,000 for most US locations and $144,000 - $198,000 for US locations with a higher cost of labor. All figures cited above are in $USD and pertain to workers located in the United States. Pay is based on several factors including market location, and may vary depending on job related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering 

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you’ll … 

  • Write performant and accessible UI components (React) that optimize for growth metrics like signups, activations, and user engagement across all product areas of Webflow.
  • Work autonomously on growth experiments with a clear target on outcome.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our architecture and codebase while also learning about our product and the customers that use it
  • Build and maintain unit and integration tests (Mocha, Jest, Cypress)
  • Share growth insights and mentor other engineers on best practices in growth engineering, data-driven decision-making, and experimentation techniques.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business model, growth metrics, and the personas of the customers that use our product.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, at Webflow we will support you in identifying where your interests and development opportunities lie and we'll help you incorporate them into your role.

About you 

You’ll thrive as a Senior Frontend Engineer, if you...

  • Feel comfortable working across the stack from React components with node based backend with a focus on frontend engineer. 
  • Have 5+ years of experience in scalable, multi-tenant environments that drive rich front-end experiences. 
  • Have experience on a Growth team is a major plus but not essential. Here is a good read about habits of an effective growth team, we do expect you to demonstrate these behaviors.
  • Have excellent organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Have worked on complex issues where the analysis requires an in-depth knowledge of the company and existing architecture.
  • Can debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
  • Take pride in taking ownership and driving projects to business impact
  • Have proven experience building complex web systems.
  • Are familiar with one or more Javascript type systems (we use Flow & next.js here)
  • Are comfortable working in an agile, safe-to-fail environment
