The Developer Platform team is building the future of how developers will interact with Reddit. This platform is the one stop shop for building powerful apps and bots to customize Reddit. Bringing enhancements to the communities you love, enabling moderators to run subreddits more effectively, and creating new ways for millions of users to connect.

We are looking for someone to lead the design and implementation of our developer portal for external clients. Users will be able to create, configure, manage and monitor their applications, accounts and api usage. You will lead the charge in creating beautiful visualizations and intuitive navigation to create a joyful experience for our customers. 

What You’ll Do

  1. Evolve Reddit's public API and developer capabilities towards a cleaner, more elegant developer experience.
  2. Create an engaging and highly performant portal for external users to create, configure, manage and monitor their real-time event streams and API utilizations. 
  3. Build a platform that is highly available, low on latency, and at internet scale.
  4. Join a collaborative and supportive team with a strong sense of ownership.

Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of hands-on, post-internship, professional experience in fast-paced software development
  2. You have extensive experience on more than one front-end paradigms; (e.g. React, Lit, Next.js, Svelte, Vue)
  3. Typescript / Javascript expertise as well as some backend experience in Node.js and any modern sql and no-sql datastores
  4. Passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that people love.
  5. Excellent communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully-remote environment, and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
  6. Contribute to the entire development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be reviewing code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks.

This role is US-based, and 100%, permanently remote.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:

$183,500—$275,300 USD
