Who we want:
We are seeking a top-notch JavaScript developer to join our Bazaarvoice Portal Reports team. This team is focused on building and maintaining Reporting application within Bazaarvoice Portal. Reporting application provides full customization capabilities to clients where they have the options to select desired report fields, various filters, recipients, and schedule. Using this application BV clients create nearly 8k reports every week to measure their various program and product performance or to simply export raw data for individual reviews, questions, answers, products. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill client-side app, you will be called upon to develop features that will serve Fortune 500 companies and boutique brands. If you are looking for an opportunity to work alongside a slew of other smart engineers on large-scale enterprise SaaS application, then this is the role for you.
This is a front-end role, so standard rules apply: JavaScript, HTML. CSS, React and scripting languages like BASH, Python etc. However, we are looking for more than satisfying a list of buzzwords – we are looking for someone that lives and breathes web applications.
What you’ll be doing:
You will be responsible for innovating over, building out, maintaining front-end applications that our clients rely on to produce large number of daily and weekly reports to measure their BV product and program performance. You will be continuously working to improve the Bazaarvoice client tools so that clients have a positive experience with Bazaarvoice while performing their daily reporting tasks.
Who you are:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience using JavaScript, HTML and CSS to develop web applications.
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting language – Python, Bash, Ruby etc.
- A strong knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals and computer science fundamentals.
- You can speak to and demonstrate the power of newer CSS capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience using React or similar frameworks.
- A browser’s devtools are as much in your tool belt as your text editor is.
- You understand performance, accessibility and security standards and develop applications with those in mind.
- Comfortable in delivering within Agile development methodologies ex. Scrum/Kanban.
- You know how to test an application, as well as how to write an application that is testable.
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Working knowledge of at least 1 public cloud hosting provider (AWS (preferred), Google Cloud, Azure or similar).
- You like working in collaborative environment with a diverse team that consists of members from front-end and back-end engineering, product management, UX designers, technical writers etc.
- You have excellent troubleshooting skills.
