Compensation Range: $45 - 55 per hour

The Senior Graphic Designer with advertising agency experience provides design support for integrated, multimedia campaigns including traditional and digital work for the in-house agency. Working in collaboration with a copywriter who develops the verbal portion of concepts, the senior designer develops visual concepts in response to a creative brief.

This role is responsible for supporting the Associate Creative Director (ACD) and/or creative team lead, creative peers and account services teams in developing marketing collateral and internal communications for clients. The senior designer must exhibit outstanding design judgment and needs working knowledge of client's business challenges to achieve the highest possible standards for all designed materials.

Responsibilities:

Design Support

  • Lead in executing the design of marketing assets as prescribed by creative/marketing briefs with direction from the ACD and/or Creative Director (CD), account teams and clients.
  • Brainstorm and strategize with creative team to help develop direction as it pertains to "look and feel."
  • Convert rough ideas into visual prototypes (e.g., sketches, layout drafts) to illustrate concepts for creative reviews.
  • Recommend, research and develop imagery (e.g., photography, illustration) to support creative strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with writing team to artfully build creative solutions to address specific project objectives.
  • Responsible for the final development and production of creative assets.
  • Ensure accuracy, attention to detail and that the project overall meets or exceeds the design objectives.
  • Share interim work with ACD and/or CD for direction and design insights.
  • Ensure brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executions.
  • Produce collateral within the brand, but also explore new interpretations of the brand and develop out-of-the-box approaches to grow the visual identity of the brand.
  • Support the ACD and/or CD and creative team in developing creative strategies and concepts.
  • Play an active role in conceptual ideation in brainstorms or offline creative development.
  • Provide ACD and/or CD unsolicited ideas and insights on market trends, competitive marketing or innovations.
  • Actively participate in the ideation process leveraging research, analytics and brand insights.

Teamwork

  • Work to improve the team's overall performance and embrace a collaborative approach.
  • Actively seek input and insights from teammates on developing projects.
  • Mentor new team members by offering support and counsel on various aspects of their role as requested by the creative team lead.
  • Provide visible support for leadership and help build a unified team mindset.
  • Provide open and honest feedback to supporting team members with the goal of striving to be the best.

Client Service

  • Partner with the ACD and/or CD, account team and the business to achieve effective and efficient outcomes.
  • Engage with the ACD and/or CD in account/client meetings to review briefs, build project plans, kick off projects and present creative work.
  • Take lead role and work directly with clients as dictated by the scope of a project.

Qualifications:

  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in design, advertising or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of professional level experience required; three as a senior graphic designer or art director.
  • Portfolio required that displays integrated, multichannel campaigns
  • External advertising agency experience a must.
  • Willing to work in a PC environment
  • Proficiency with using Adobe Creative Cloud software required by the job function.
  • Understanding of design applications in traditional and emerging channels.
  • Ability to state opinions clearly and describe visual concepts verbally.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines and directions.
  • Understanding that all projects require attention to detail so that work is on time, on budget and on strategy.
  • Ability to work autonomously without micro-direction, accountable for accuracy.
  • Demonstrated creative conceptualization skills.
