Senior Integration Software Engineer
Workyard is a fast-growing venture backed startup that is developing an innovative workforce management platform for the construction market. We are looking for a Senior Integration Software Engineer (API) to configure technical solutions to on-board new clients onto the Workyard platform. You will be working with customers and the sales team to understand their integration requirement and delivering solutions, as well as scoping future product roadmap integration initiatives with product management. This position will be part of the Engineering Team and report directly into the Head of Engineering.
You must have a passion for writing clean, maintainable code and delivering robust integrations with third party accounting and payroll applications.
This is a 100% remote position out of the United States or Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage successful technical integrations to on-board customers
- Perform system analysis on data requirements and backend software engineering focused primarily on configuring and building APIs
- Interact with clients, leading integration discussions
- Serve as technical product expert to architect implementation solutions, resolve technical issues identified in the sales process, respond to customer inquiries
- Collaborate with product management/engineering to propose and map future integration solutions, scope efforts
Requirements
- 6+ years in system integration, platform/API engineering, sales solution architecting or engineering
- Track record of creating client solution requirements and building APIs
- High proficiency in a modern OOP language, ideally PHP, along with expertise in a modern OOP framework such as Laravel, Symfony or other similar frameworks.
- High proficiency with MySQL and/or SQL Server.
- Knowledge of modern web API technologies and protocols and practical experience working with both modern and legacy system integrations (e.g. XML, SOAP).
- Developer-level Windows administration ability, e.g. configuring and trouble-shooting networking, starting and stopping services, reviewing logs, etc.
- Ability to understand business needs and challenges and the ability to bridge the gap between the business and technology.
- Ability to develop solid interpersonal relationships and appropriate rapport with multiple levels within client organizations, ranging from small to large
- Proactive, independent, and strong, consistent work ethic a must
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent
