Job Summary

The IT Operations Specialist will play a key role in maintaining the organization’s technology infrastructure and subscriptions, ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of all cloud-based systems and applications. This role involves managing cloud servers & storage, SaaS applications, and end-user support while also contributing to IT strategy and planning.

The IT Operations Specialist at phData will be expected to:

  • Manage and resolve IT support requests from employees, spanning device, account, application, server, and service issues.
  • Work on a variety of organization-wide application and infrastructure projects with minimal downtime and disruption including migrations, optimizations, security enhancements, SSO, provisioning, and automation.
  • Create and configure accounts for new employees, and de-provision accounts for departing employees.
  • Procure and ship new laptops to employees, and wipe devices received from exit employees for reuse.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory.
  • Participate in security and compliance audits, and conduct timely review of security alerts across multiple platforms.
  • Be a tech specialist and be a technical mentor to the team as and when needed.
  • Work with different MDM systems and execute app deployments, policy implementations, and configuration automations.
  • Maintain an Entra ID domain with user accounts, dynamic groups, and enterprise app integrations.
  • Assist with the tracking and management of subscriptions and licenses.
  • Create design and planning docs to drive well–defined IT implementations.
  • Work in rotational shifts and provide weekend on-call rotation to support end users and provide uninterrupted global IT coverage.

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:

  • Prefer any of the following hands-on experience: Windows, macOS, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Intune (Microsoft Endpoint Manager), Office 365, Google Workspace/GSuite, Azure Sentinel, AWS Workspaces, AWS EC2 and networking, Windows Server, Jamf suite, Sophos endpoint security, Jira service management, OpenVPN, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree either in IT or Computer Science preferred.
  • Extensive experience and excellent troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance skills on all operating systems, laptop hardware, and other IT devices.
  • Extensive experience in servers and virtualization. 
  • Experience in Network (Routing, Switching, Wireless and Security) infrastructure setup and maintenance.
  • Extensive customer support experience.
  • Experience in configuring and managing different SIEM, Network, and AV monitoring tools. 
  • Advance knowledge and experience in cloud platforms like AWS and Microsoft Entra (Azure).
  • Experience with participating in ISMS Certification Process and/or Audits.
  • A total of 7+ years of experience with at least 3 years as an System Administrator or similar.
  • Work in a 24/7 environment with rotating shifts including night shifts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
