Summary Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Jira/JSM Administrator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the efficient functioning and optimization of our Jira and Jira Service Management (JSM) instances.
As a key member of our IT team, the Senior Jira/JSM Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the administration, configuration, customization, and ongoing support of all of our Jira environments.
We are looking for someone that is naturally curious, a strong problem solver and doesn't shy away from taking on new challenges, and thrives on change with minimum guidance and management.
In this role, you will be providing both local and international support to internal staff at all levels in a fast-paced, fast-changing global environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Jira/JSM Administration:
- Manage and administer Jira and JSM instances, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Customise workflows, screens, fields, and schemes to meet the organisation's unique needs.
- Configure and maintain Jira add-ons and integrations.
- User Management:
- Administer user access, permissions, and roles in Jira/JSM.
- Provide user training and support to enhance effective utilisation of the platforms.
- Automation and Scripting:
- Develop and implement automation rules and scripts to streamline processes.
- Create custom scripts using Jira API for advanced configurations.
- Advise and recommend faster ways to work within Jira and other Atlassian products.
- Reporting and Dashboards:
- Design and maintain customised reports and dashboards for various stakeholders.
- Utilise advanced Jira reporting features to provide insights into project and team performance.
- Collaboration and Integration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address business requirements.
- Integrate Jira/JSM with other tools and systems to ensure seamless workflow.
Must Have:
- Must Have:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in advanced Jira/JSM administration.
- Proven track record of managing complex Jira instances in large organisations.
- Jira Administrator Certification is required.
- Proficiency in Jira and JSM administration, including configuration and customization.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to high-growth technology businesses.
- Strong scripting skills with experience in Groovy, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with Atlassian products other than Jira/JSM.
- Additional certifications in JSM or related fields would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
After 12 months in the role, you would have achieved the following:
- Streamlined and optimised Jira/JSM configurations to enhance team productivity.
- Implemented efficient workflows and automation, reducing manual processes and improving efficiency.
- Successfully provided user training and support, resulting in increased user proficiency and satisfaction.
- Developed comprehensive reports and dashboards, providing valuable insights to management
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to integrate Jira/JSM seamlessly with other tools, improving overall workflow integration.
