Overview

As a Senior Learning Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing the learning experiences of our learning products. This role involves a combination of learning design expertise, a deep understanding of adult learning principles, along with experience and knowledge on how to apply these principles to blended learning content.

Accountabilities

As a Senior Learning Designer at Decoded, you are accountable for:

  • Ownership of all LXD tasks and activities assigned as part of the project/programme deliverables
  • Design and develop learning content and assets across all blended learning modalities
  • Review, feedback and update products to ensure high-quality of learning experience

Specific Role & Responsibilities

Learning need analysis

  • Create learner personas and empathy maps to identify learners and their learning needs.
  • Create learning outcomes based on the learning needs. Translate these outcomes to training objectives.

Content structure & learning/instructional strategy for an end-to-end blended programme

  • Collaborate with SME to design a comprehensive learning structure that aligns with the training objectives and learning needs.
  • Design and content structure to include, selecting appropriate instructional and training methods, media, materials, technologies, and assessment strategies for delivering the desired and expected quality / experience for the learners.

Content writing and storyboarding for all modalities of a blended programme

  • Write content and create storyboards based on the design specifications and source content provided by the SMEs.
  • Storyboarding will be for e-Learning, multimedia elements, downloadable resources, workshops slides, etc. and will need to include the sequence of topics, content presentation, images/ animations/ videos/ podcast, on screen interactions, group and breakout activities for digital and live sessions.
  • Maintain high standards of written English, visual aesthetics and end-to-end learner experience and coordinating with other learner-facing teams to ensure consistency at every touchpoint.

Assessment and assignments

  • Collaborate with the SMEs to design scenario-led assessment questions to measure the achievement of learning objectives.
  • Work with the SMEs to create realistic work based challenges and assignments that the learners can apply their learning to and test their own confidence/ knowledge/ skills levels, at the end of learning content and workshops

Review, give/receive feedback and update products

  • Review and feel empowered to influence the quality of our products.
  • Take responsibility for the success of a product area as measured through learner, client and internal stakeholder feedback.
  • Update products based on feedback and give constructive feedback that are based on LXD principles and adult learning models.
  • Set and manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders, through the project lifecycle.

Team & Reporting Structure

You will be part of the LXD team and directly report to the Learning Experience Director.

Day-To-Day

We are a global workforce currently working a blend of remote and office working. Remote and flexible working has always been part of our culture and will continue to be encouraged. Our working hours are typically from 9am-5pm Monday - Friday. You will be in control and responsible for your time. You will plan your working day around the best outcomes for success, identifying and prioritising projects against business needs.
