Senior Management Consultant
Job Summary:
Aptive requires Management Consultants to support VHA in developing an improved organization and implementing critical initiatives. This includes measuring success, outcomes, and the improvement of programs. To assist in managing multiple concurrent transformation initiatives, the Sr. Management Consultant will plan and organize work, prioritize projects, and deliver and monitor business results. Regular client interaction, including potentially daily scrum meetings, facilitate scheduling of activities and rebalancing resources. Aptive Management Consultants will exhibit a well-recognized ability to rapidly engage and leverage the knowledge of VHA program operations and the Administration’s previously established goals and objectives to support a range of high-profile initiatives.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VHA, requires professional support services to assist the Deputy Under Secretary of Health (DUSH)—who is accountable for specific health care programs enabling and supporting virtually every aspect of patient care provided to Veterans- with the development, administration, and management of various emerging initiatives, some of which are legislatively mandated. Aptive serves as the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) strategic partner to transform the country’s largest and most complex organizations – with 1,600 care sites across 50 states and a staff of approximately 300,000 employees caring for over six million Veterans – into a clinically led, outcome-focused, and technology-enabled organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support Stakeholder Awareness and Engagement and Standards and Support workstreams of Integrated Healthcare Portfolio Management Project.
- Delivery of high quality, senior executive-level deliverables.
- Support current and incoming project teams with knowledge and expertise of IHPM framework and platform.
- Provide performance analysis and process improvement strategies by using industry best practice methodologies and tools.
- Review and analyze reports involving data fields, within the IHPM Project Dashboards and IHPM Project Center, for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, and develop executive key summary information.
- Update historical documentation and/or creation of new documentation relevant to the IHPM processes.
- Manage scheduling and providing walkthrough of IHPM environment to incoming project teams.
- Report workload with Project Management tools for transparency of work
- Assist Aptive Project Manager with weekly and monthly reports and deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have 7+ years of relevant experience
- A bachelor's degree
- Technical writing experience
- Must be adept at higher-level editorial tasks.
- Ability to analyze technical information and communicate results, issues, risks, and impacts in a concise manner to a diverse audience.
- Must have direct experience with Access, Scheduling, and HR within the VHA
- Must understand personal and team roles, contributing to a positive working environment, and proactively seek and provide guidance, clarification, and feedback.
- Strong in communicating in an organized and knowledgeable manner in written and verbal formats, including presenting to senior executives, developing lasting relationships, delivering clear requests for information, and communicating potential conflicts.
