About the Role
As the Senior Manager, Cash and Funding, you will hold a pivotal position within our organization, reporting directly to our Treasurer and Head of Capital. You will serve as a strategic partner, working closely within our Treasury team and with key functional leaders internal and external to Wealthsimple. As a trusted advisor, you will provide expert guidance and collaborate with leaders across various departments including product, operations, trading, finance, legal, regulatory & compliance to find creative solutions to difficult problems. You are adaptable, flexible, and thrive in a collaborative, innovative environment where two days rarely look the same. In this role you will:
- Be responsible for Wealthsimple’s funding and cash management with focus in the broker dealer/brokerage and payments areas
- Build and enhance Wealthsimple’s daily and intraday cashflow or liquidity projection models
- Design and implement appropriate Treasury operations related (e.g. payment/securities settlements, intraday liquidity and margin requirements) stress testing scenarios and assumptions
- Monitor and manage intraday and short-term liquidity and funding positions to ensure adequate levels to support existing and new business operations
- Develop and implement funding planning and execution to support fundings needs within the broker-dealer
- Enhance flow of funds, settlement timing and collateral management to optimize for liquidity and capital needs
We're looking for someone who:
- Has 7+ years of Treasury experience with focus on broker dealer funding, cash management and payment settlement
- Brings expert industry in-depth knowledge of key intraday and funding requirements for broker-dealer business (e.g. securities and options settlement, collateral management for both trades and clearing counterparties requirement, margin funding and payments settlements)
- Brings technical expertise including securities and option trading settlements and collateral/margin requirements
- Has great understanding of client free credit segregation, risk adjusted capital; and other relevant brokerage regulatory requirements
- Possesses strong and effective communication skills and ability to explain complex settlement and intraday liquidity concepts effectively to non-Treasury audiences
- Is self motivated and has the ability to run independently on identifying optimization opportunities
- Has excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment.
