On a day-to-day basis, we need a leader with a commitment to build, mentor, and manage your team, creating a safe, inclusive and collaborative work environment. With a dynamite team behind you, you’ll own the product design strategy, and come up with novel ways to implement it. You’ll work with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to ship the slickest, most intuitive B2B and B2C features for our SaaS products. Dig into your experience and new evaluation tools, to magically turn ambiguity and patterns from customer feedback into a beautiful design. Be prepared to scale with our rapidly growing company, develop strategies to expand our ever-changing field of current and potential customers, and develop and refine user personas and use cases.

What you’ll do:

  • Build, mentor, manage a diverse team of designers and help improve their craft to utilize their strengths and build on their potential
  • Create, launch, and manage pay structure and banding for all roles within the product design organization and ensure fair compensation within minor variances amongst all members of the team
  • Support the well-being of team members, providing support and guidance around time management, professional development, and user-centric best practices
  • Create and manage long-term strategic design goals, shaping KPIs in a way that creates actionable insights to predict what’s next
  • Act as internal champion and leader for user experience – not only aligning people around design processes, but generating a wider informed and empathetic organization
  • Lead team of designers to deliver value, intuitive, and beautiful user experiences for multiple B2C and B2B products and platforms on both web and mobile
  • Understand the key differences between designing a product for all our customers and designing a small project for customers
  • Have a deep understanding of the complex needs of different personas we serve to deliver inclusive and equitable experiences that scale
  • Build collaborative relationships across the organization to develop a compelling product design strategy and roadmap
  • Build and manage design systems for multiple products and platforms to serve our B2C and B2B customers; lead the strategy and deliver a consistent and effective experience with speed for our web and mobile platforms
  • Create and implement user research standards and process for the product design team to ensure the features we launch are meeting customer’s desires for new releases
  • Set standards for research and design tools along with processes to bring the best research and design practices to ensure high quality insights and solutions
  • Act as the Creative Manager for all designers to ensure the creative vision is executed across our entire web and mobile product offering Also, take on design projects and conduct research as an individual contributor across multiple products and projects at a time
  • Participate with other senior managers/leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives for the larger teams

What you’ll bring:

  • Empathy. You care about the human beings using our software and you want to equip them with the best product possible to make their lives easier
  • Proven success setting the vision and strategy while simultaneously leading and scaling a high performing product design and research team
  • Experience in hiring, building, and managing a product design team
  • Deep understanding of the user experience design methods
  • Proven track record of creating environments that foster inclusive collaboration and working in close partnership with other stakeholder teams
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills including being a team player that works well with counterparts from various departments and can influence the work of other teams without direct reporting accountability
